Home Phone Service Down a Week With Unconcerned Support

Service with AT&T home phone 45 years. Waiting 1 week for service to be restored. Called about the status, they seem unconcerned, never had this problem before always prompt in responding. Maybe if we wait long enough the problem will be fixed. Mean while paying for a service of no benefit.
