Directv
Contract Fraud

Miscellaneous

We were customers of DirecTTv since 1997. We were the people that received the calls saying that "they so appreciated our loyalty, what could they do to make us happy".in June my husband lost his job and we moved from the East Coast, but we retained direct tv, we simply scaled back to 1 television from 3.in July my husband was offered a position in England for 1 year. We called Direct to tell them we would be moving away for one year and they announced that changing the number of receivers in July has "re-initiated" our contract and we would have to pay an early cancellation fee. I kid you not, these people after 14 years charged us for early termination. I told them catergorically that when we returned to the States I would never ever consider them for service again and they said "OK". But it gets better, 2 weeks later in the middle of our move DirectTV called to offer us a $300 credit to re-subscribe! I can tell you this business model cannot survive. I will never ever ever ever consider this company again and what is more I will make sure that everyone I know hears about what a horrible experience we had. I saw a Directtv van in a neighbors driveway the other day and stopped and told them what had happened and suggested they look at ATT U Verse. This is how badly I dislike this company. Thanks for 14 years of loyalty and be sure and pay your cancellation fee.
