In 2006 I purchased a water heater from RELIANCE at a hardware
store in Los Angeles. It is under WARRANY until September.
However this water heater has had a history of defect and did not
work properly.

In September It stopped working. My plumber ordered the part and RELIANCE sent a new bottom part (May be the BURNER? I do not know it name).

But in June it stopped working again. The gas men from the Gas Company came to check 2 times and they said the water heater was NO GOOD. I called RELIANCE at 1-800-544-2592 and they sent another new top part (GAS CONTROL VALVE). My other plumber installed and it worked only 2 days and stopped working.

My plumber called RELIANCE to request the new part, but they DID REFUSE to send. They told me to CLEAN UP the FILTER. After I DID CLEAN UP the FILTER, the water heater STILL DID NOT WORK.

My plumber called another time to request a new part but RELIANCE also REFUSED to send. This time they required another thing: to MEASURE/READ the gas amount.
My plumber told me that the gas is very good. I called RELIANCE again, but they lastly refused to send any new part.

While my tenants waited and complained me a lot because they did not have hot water.

Therefore I have no other choice than to buy a new water heater
for my tenants. And now IT IS WORKING PERFECTLY regardless about to MEASURE/READ the gas amount as unreseaoable request
by RELIANCE.

Therefore I submit this complaint to your Department. Please investigate the RELIANCE's dishonesty in dealing with their customer.

I also request them to pay me back $361.08 when I bought a new water heater because they are dishonest to perform their obligation on their product that is still UNDER WARRANTY.

Your attention and helping of this matter would be greatly appreciated.
