RCN sold me television service, which included several movie channels. I agreed to a 12-month contract under the pretense that the price would not change during that time. I specifically asked them whether the price would change, or whether the contract included any type of promotion that would expire during the 12-month period, and was told "no." When the first bill arrived, it listed a 3-month promotion for HBO & Showtime. When I called to cancel my service, they told me I would be on the hook for a $130 early termination fee because of the contract that I agreed to over the phone via a voice confirmation - the same contract that "didn't include a promotion." Total scam.
