Very Poor Customer Service

My fiance is on an 18 month tour in Afghanistan and gets vacation. He flew to Europe to meet us and ended up with two separate flights that conflicted on his trip to Europe (one was bought to get from base to a public airport and the other from that airport). He didn't figure out the error until he tried to check in for the flight from the public airport to Europe. He called Travelocity who told him to work with the airline. The airline tried to help but the tickets were purchased through Travelocity. He ended up buying another outgoing flight. He talked to the airline and to Travelocity and made it clear and checked that there would be no problem with his return flight. At the end of our vacation, 21 days later (and 21 days during which he could have addressed a problem if he had been properly informed), he was told his return trip was cancelled. The small airport in Denmark had very helpful employees who called the airline to try to solve the problem and were told that the problem with the cancelled ticket came from Travelocity. My fiance called Travelocity who said it was the airline's fault.

It is very disappointing that Travelocity didn't alert him to the problem during his flight to Europe concerns and sais everything was fine. It is also concerning that Travelocity (if it is as they say, beyond their control) made no attempt via email or any other form to alert him to the change in his ticket. A last minute ticket back to base cost him about $1500 more (this is on top of the the cost of buying the ticket to Europe and if my fiance had been told that everything was cancelled, he could have bought a round trip ticket at that time). To make matters worse, the representatives from Travelocity (in contrast to the airline employees) were rude and basically said they couldn't help.

SKIP Travelocity and buy straight from the airline.
