How do you get fired on your day off?

This what happen on 1/23, I was call to the office and my DON ask me if I would fill in for an other employee on the following day. Switch would be 1/24. I said yes to it and went back to work. When I got off the housekeeping supervisor reminded me that I had to come to work for other worker tomorrow. I knew that already right. The following day I went to work for the other employee. Didn't nobody tell that they wanted me to come to work on 1/25. So I thought that i had that day off. So i didn't go to work that. When my DON call me to come to work I wasn't in town to come to work. I was on my way to taking my mother somewhere. About an hour later my DON call me and said that they are going to let me go for not coming to work when I was ask to. But they didn't ask me to work on 1/25, because if they did i would have work that day to just like I did 1/24 on my off day. They put in my Separation notice that i had been written up for somethings in the workplace but i don't recall signing any thing relative to a write up.
