My name is Louis Marshall; I'm a graphic designer based in Melbourne who's been duped by these two 'clients' to the tune of $176 (civil action is now underway, I will report back results as they come).
Jazcinta approached me on 27/Jul to undertake graphic design and desktop publishing work for her. Her work was completed and she took receipt of it on 13/Aug and 30/Aug. An invoice for $176 was sent to her on 26/Aug (this was to cover the cost of the work she asked for). The bill needed to be paid by 2/Sept. The payment due date came and went. During the month of September I sent multiple emails to Jazcinta letting her know the invoice was overdue and payment was required.
After being ignored for nearly a month, Jazcinta finally got in contact with me after I threatened legal action. On 17/Oct she made a written undertaking to settle the invoice on 19/Oct. On 19/Oct Jazcinta sent an email falsely claiming that the invoice had now been paid (no money ever arrived for the work).
