Deceitful Practices

My wife and I gave 30 day notice that we were moving out of the complex. When leaving, we received a letter stating that we were responsible for the rent until it was re-rented. We continued to pay for 2 month, which at that time it was rented and re-occupied.

I have asked for our damage deposit to be returned, which they will not respond to my request. Now, they have retaliated against us by turning us into collections claiming that we didn’t pay through the end of our lease. Yet, they will not, and have not sent us any sort of invoice or bill stating any dollar amounts due.

The retaliatory treatment that we are being subjected to is certainly inappropriate and quite possibly in violation of the law, as our rights are not being adhered to.
