Problem with Software Upgrade

I installed the CD Rom sent to me and of course it had to be updated before I could work, the Red Gear Upgrade is not working. No one can tell me anything other than a lot of people are having this problem and to keep checking my email so I will know when it has been fixed. This is not acceptable. I am already losing business because I can't work. I can't reach anyone in tech support because they are very very busy, which I wish I was. This is not fair. I am a small business and all my customers are important to me. So I am just suppose to sit and wait until whenever someone figures out what's wrong? Send my clients elsewhere? I depend on tax season as part of my income.
