Microsoft
Windows IE8 upgrade

Computers & Services

I have been using my XP software since 2002. It had IE6 installed when I bought the computer. From time to time I am asked if I want to upgrade to a different version of Internet Explorer and have done so without incident. About 1-2 weeks ago I received an email from MS which was a "news letter" about downloads. It asked me if I wanted to upgrade to IE8 and get Bing. I agreed but now I can't view a store's web site. It just keeps telling me I need to upgrade. (spent a week installing, reinstalling etc. And keep getting same message) support page doesn't help and neither does the Customer Service Dept. They say go back to manufacturer! I don't think Manufacturer is responsible. Microsoft wants to charge me for tech support or - go back to support page. I would've never installed IE8 had I known. Everything worked fine up until then.
