Fraud, scaming, gift card problems and did nothing about it

I bought a gift card and gave it as a gift for christmas onlyto find thatthe money wasalready spent on it. How does thathappen? The purchase was madeonline using the pin a day after the card was purchased but the pin was not scratched off. The card was purchased at the store directly from the cashier. I called the store and main headquarters (1-800-old-navy) numerous times andas of now two weeks later nothinghas been done to correct the problem. I was told if I had the receipt the situation would be taken care of immediatly, however after I searched through five bags of trash I finally found the reciept only to find I was still left with nothing. Thegift card was a $50 gift card, are you saying thestore can not cover $50? I had to call my credit card company which is handlingitbut what if I was to use cash? I would be outof luck. I will never shop at old navy again! All I keepgetting is the run around from the store and the main headquarters.
