False statements about product replacement plan

Beaware!!!

The Scottsdale Store located off of Indian Bend is claiming that batteries are covered under the Product Replacement Plan (2 Year). This is totally incorrect!!! If you read the plan is specifically states that batteries are not covered.

After reading all the complaints about Best Buy and about their warranties, I decided to purchase a 2 year warranty for my batteries because they told me that it was covered. I requested that the representive show me where in the warranty it shows that batteries are covered and he could not show me.

He went into the back room and came back and told me that the supervisor told him they were. During this time I had already looked at the pamphlet and it specifically states Also not covered are replacements for lost or consumable parts (knobs, remotes, batteries, bags, belts,

I requested that the manager of the store sign off on my warranty and state that Best Buy will replace the batteries if they go bad/dead. I only did this because someone else at www.bestbuysux.com and this forum said to do this.

Well, when I called Best Buy Corporate today (day after I bought the warranty) December 4, Ligi (the supervisor) told me that batteries were not covered and that Best Buy would not honor the warranty if the batteries went dead within 2 years. I requested that she informs the Scottsdale store to stop saying that batteries are covered under the warranty. She said she would but I just want to get it out there so everyone knows.

In addition, Ligi told me that you can cancel your replacement plan within 30 days and get a full refund, which I plan on doing.
