Block fence overcharged and under delivered

I hired this company to build a block fence in the front of my house. When the owner first arrived, he said it was going to cost double what he originally quotes of $5000. I thought because I had a good size yard, he would be doing a detailed job with the fence.

He didn't use any rebar and the mortar was sub-par. A year after he installed it, once of the columns had moved from someone leaning against it. I notified him and he said he had come out when I wasn't here and fixed it. I found out he had not because I noticed a month later the exact same spot had been moved again. After noticing the mortar coming out in other places, I brought that to his attention. He said that was normal which I knew it was not as I have other block walls that have been up a lot longer than that fence and don't have any mortar coming out or look nearly as bad. He then blamed water hitting it. Same thing happens with other block walls on my property and they aren't having any problem.

He then fell back on a warranty which he never mentioned or provided.

I spoke with another contractor that builds block fences and he specifically said the mortar wasn't mixed right.

Well now the whole front side of the fence has fallen down because of no rebar and thankfully no one was hurt and I have to pay more money which I shouldn't have to in order to have the whole thing redone.

He advertises on his site accountability, but I seriously doubt that after seeing his level of handy work.

If he was truly accountable, he would fix his mess without asking for a dime.

Honest people fix their mistakes without even one excuse. So far, all I have heard from the owner are excuses and lies.

I hope this helps anyone who is considering using that companies services. Please go elsewhere.
