Home Depot
Still Billed for Removed Wrong Fence After Almost 2 Years

In June we ordered a fence through Home Depot. We live in a community where the fence has to be a particular one. We walked the agent down to the model house and showed him what it had to look like. When they came and started installing it, I was in the shower. When I got out and looked outside, I saw they had installed the wrong fence. They were told and stopped. They then had to remove the fence.

We were left with cement holes in the backyard and no fence. We then got a call that they do not carry the fence that we must have. It will be 2 years this June and they are still charging us for part of the fence. We did get a partial refund, but they are insisting on charging us for the fence that they installed and removed. So I have no fence in my backyard, and they want me to pay them for telling us that they can order and install a fence that they do not carry?

They are saying we signed for the fence. Yes, we did, but how would we know the names of the fences? We showed him what we had to have, he wrote the order, and we signed. We have made many, many calls, sent many, many letters, and provided documentation of the restrictions in our neighborhood. Our credit is affected and we have wasted many hours on this.
