My dad sent me a $200 gift card for my birthday via Fedex overnight yesterday. He wanted me to get it today (Saturday) because it's my last weekend before I deploy to Iraq, and he wanted me to be able to go out to Buffalo Wild Wings with my buddies for one last weekend out before we went overseas.
I sat at home all day waiting for the envelope to get here. I did go shower for about 15 minutes, but I left the bathroom door open so that I could hear if someone knocked. Around 2:00 pm, I called Fedex and they claimed that the envelope had been left at my door at 1:10. I poked my head out and checked, and there was nothing. Not a slip, not an envelope. I told them there was nothing there, and they promised to talk to the courier about it and give me a call back. I waited a few more hours, and nothing, so I called back. They said that they actually weren't going to call the courier 'til Monday morning! I asked what about my package, and they said "please allow 24-48 business hours for us to discuss this with the courier.
