My phone service (301-803-7036) with Verizon suddenly ceased without reason this past Saturday 7 March. My bills are paid. I had a friend call Verizon to tell them. Verizon called me back on my cell phone (also with Verizon). The agent for Verizon, a Ms Jones (likely story) told me that the service interruption was due to a "gounded wire" on Verizon's side of the line, and that they would send a technician sometime on 24 March!!! Ms Jones, who refused to give me her employee number, stated that since my cell phone was a pay as you go (about 30 cents/minute) that her calling me was also a charge call (my cell is with Verizon and this was a call from one of Verizon's offices!). She also stated that all calls to my home phone (301-803-7036) would be forwarded to my cell... And of course each and every call would cost me 30 cents per minute!
