About 4 months ago i canceled my Dish Network subscription. I have never missed a payment or been late. The reason for me canceling was due to the fact i was moving to a new house and it was cheaper for me to go with cable for all my needs. Well anyway, I was told that they would send me a box with UPS for me to send the receiver, Eye, and another part of the sat. I agreed of course told them I would send the stuff back as soon as i got the box from UPS. Well 3 days go by and no box, but i did notice that their was around 450 dollars missing from my account at the bank. Once they told me dish had taken it out, I contacted Dish Network and asked them why they took the money out when i had paid them for my last bill. The ignorant customer service rep told me it was for the equipment i had not returned. I advised her that i had not received the box to return the items yet. Well she looked up the tracking number sure enough it was still 2 days away from my house. I then kindly asked the lady to return my money to my account, she said not until they get the items back. Well ok not much i can do, so 2 days later i get the box pack the stuff and send it out the next morning. During this time my family and I are moving to our new house and i loss track of how long its been since i mailed the stuff back. It amazingly was a month later when i noticed that Dish Network had not refunded my money yet. So i called them back and asked them if they had received the equipment yet, the lady told me that they had almost 3 weeks earlier. I then asked them if they planned on returning my money. She looked into my account and said that their was a credit of 450 dollars on my account and asked where i would like to install my new service. I advised her that i did not want the service and i just wanted my money back. She again asked me the address where i wanted them to send the tech to install service. I again told her i wanted my money back. She then put me on hold for 45 min. When she finally came back (I guess her lunch break was over) she was surprised at the fact i was still holding. She then told me they would have to file a refund of money and it would take 5-7 days to get my money back. Well ok 10 days comes and goes I call them back and go though the process of getting a clear English speaking person. This time a guy and he tells me a refund request was never done. Go figure so i then ask to speak with a supervisor. Once the supervisor gets on the phone i explain to him the situation, and ask his name and if he is located in the USA, amazingly he tells me his name and that they are in California. I then told him that if i did not get my money back in 5 days that i would sign a warrant on him personaly for theft of property. He tells me i cant do that but says he will take care of it. Two days later i have 450 dollars back in my account. Its bad that companies like this can just drain your bank account like this and not have to get your ok for it.
