Hello,
I had an unexpected delivery on Friday, February 27th, when I came home from work at 4:30 PM the box was propped against the inside main front door and my storm door was literally flapping in the wind. This incident had bent the hardware holding the storm door to the inside casing of the main front door. It literly pulled the casing away from the main door. I immediately called the delivery service to report the incident. My delemia was that I was scheduled to leave on vacation the next morning and would be gone for sometime. When I reported this incident I reported my time limitations and was told to call when I came back and someone would come out to look at the damage.

When I came back someone did come out to look and then reported the incident to Liberty Mutual Insurance, their carrier. We were contacted and were told to get estimates. The total for two new doors, instilation, and paint, came to $820.00. This is to get the doors back to the original condition. When I faxed everything to Liberty Mutual they denied the claim. When I called to dispute the refusal, I was told the driver that made the delivery said that he/she did not leave the package in any condition that would cause damage. I was also told it was their word against mine and if I did not have wittnesses of the incident. Then they would not pay for the repair.
I am very disappointed in how I have been treated by UPS. I do not have the extra money to repair the and I have a large deductable on my homeowners policy.
Unhappy 1 will tell this story to anyone that will listen... I will not recommend UPS or Liberty Mutual to anyone.
