My teenage daughter purchased a pair of jeans at Hollister in February ($72.00 plus tax). She wore them and we washed them. She put them on again and they were ripped. The fabric just came apart. As I shop there fairly regularly for three teenage girls I was sure Hollister would stand behind their defective product. The jeans were in perfect condition, with the exception of the tear. We brought them back to the store where they were purchased at the Wiregrass Mall. I asked to speak with a manager. I shook his hand and introduced myself. I explained our problem and asked if the pants could be exchanged for another pair as they were a defective pair. He said he could not do that and there was nothing he could do it was corporate policy. I asked his name because I told him I wanted to write a letter to corporate and find out if this is in fact their policy. He said Hollister employees were not allowed to give their name. I asked for the address and phone number of the store, he said he could only give me the customer service address and phone number in California. All the while he was behaving in a very condescending manner. I cannot believe that in a time of economic crisis such as this a store can afford to be so rude to its loyal customers. I have never complained or returned an item to Hollister in my many years of shopping there. As of today, I will no longer be a customer of Hollister.
