I had a modem from Verizon years ago and when I cancelled the account I sent the modem back. Two years later I tried to cosign for my daughter to get a phone in CA and they said I had an outstanding balance for the modem I never returned

Afni, Inc. Has offered a settlemet of one-half of what Verizon says I owe.$99.76 is the adjusted figure. I have told both the phone company and Afin that I returned the modem but it was so long before I received notice of the charge that I didn't have any documents to prove my claim.

I tried to explain to both companies but neither one cared. They have put this bill on my credit report. I am not sure what I should do at this point.
