Saturn Manipulation of Warranty on 27,000 mile ION Coupe 3

Miscellaneous

I have a 27,000 mile 2006 ION Coupe 3 whose coolant light came on. I purchased coolant and began to pour it in when it all began to run on the ground. Coincidentaly I needed to call Saturn about my warranty and to find out whether or not I needed to get the extended warranty.

When I called, I first spoke with the finance rep who told me that I did not need an extended warranty yet and if there was a problem with my car it would be covered under the warranty. Then I explained the problem to the service tech who told me not to attempt to drive the car, as they would have a towing company pick it up. Later that night the towing company came.

The next morning at 7:06, I received a call from the service tech who said there was a hole in my radiator, that I caused and it would not be covered by the warranty. Meanwhile, it would be a $700 job. I was stunned and asked how could something like this happen, I didn 't hit anything, I would know if I hit something hard enough to put a hole in my radiator. There was not even a scrape on the front of my car from anything, so how could this be? The more I thought about it, the more I got angry. I asked for proof that I damaged the radiator; was there a forensic scientist at the dealership holding the object to explain the exact position that it hit my radiator. Or was there a picture of me somewhere hitting an object that I had no knowledge of? It was confusing to me how they just pulled this out of their you know what. Anyway I argued all the way up to the executive office with no resolution.

I asked, if I sold you a purse and guaranteed to fix it if the strap broke, and then you brought it in for repair and I said, well I wont fix it because you carried objects in it that were too heavy... How the hell would I know that. Their practices are very manipulative. I also said lets just say, I did hit a piece of debris while I was driving the car and it did put a hole in my radiator, the radiator would have been damaged while I was driving... Would that not be wear and tear? (Tony Dutton, the Service Mgr told me that the radiators are made of a very thin material and my reponse was if you all know that, then you should cover that in your the warranty!) It's not as if I layed under the car while it was parked and put a hole in it with a pencil. They refused to honor the warranty for my 27,000 mile car. OUTRAGEOUS!!!

We paid for my car and put "Will legally pursue this matter further " on the bottom of the invoice and made a copy of it. I asked to see the radiator and when he (the sevice tech) brought it out I told him I was taking it with me. He said, "if you're planning to sue us, no you're not!" We'll I started to have a holy fit and threatened to call the police... I knew that radiator was mine to take with me. He gave it up after that. I believe they are liars and deceive people like me, manipulating service issues to make money. I want my $700 back and I will tell this story to whom ever will listen.
