Don't waste your time interviewing

Miscellaneous

About 2 months ago, I was called by their receptionist to come into their office for an interview. I was shocked as well as appalled that I would have to be TOLD to dress in interview attire and bring a clean copy of my resume. Quite frankly, if you are going to an interview, it is common knowledge to dress professionally and always bring a clean copy of your resume, degree and any certificates pertinent to the position applied for. The ad posted on careerbuilder.com was for various positions but I was specifically applying for the Human Resources position thinking that this was a legitimate and professional organization.

As I pulled up to the building, I saw a young woman leaving their office, extremely upset and angered, telling whomever was on the other line that it was a complete waste of her time. I did see that she was dressed inappropriately so I thought what do I have to lose?

When I arrived and I checked in, the receptionist neglected to write down my appointment time but did recall calling me. I was stunned at the poor organizational skills demonstrated that day as well as the poor professional demeanor demonstrated. A gentleman walked in wanting to fill out an application for any position available. The receptionist asked if he had a vehicle and the he said no. She said sorry but you need to have a car! He was surprised but insisted on filling out an application. I was later called in.

The demeanor in which Manny Santos behaved was so unprofessional that I was surprised that as a so called president of EVO he himself had not received appropriate training on how to conduct himself, how to conduct an interview and how to demonstrate professional behavior, let alone that he did not have someone from Human Resources there. He made quick notes on my resume and as I offered him a clean copy as well as a copy of my degree he said NO in a derrogatory form.

That interview was a complete waste of my time as I was brought in under false pretenses. I was asked if I had a vehicle and what kind. Obviously a question you should never asked in an interview. It is not something that should be asked if interviewing for a managerial position or for that matter Human Resources. As long as the applicant can arrive to work on time, that should be the only focus of the potential employer. I was informed of what the company did and that they were looking for people to sell their customers products and obtain new clients. This has nothing to do with what they were advertising. Manny Santos asked if I were to be called in for a second interview could I spend the whole day with one of his reps to see how the day to day operations worked. The interview lasted no more than 5 minutes if it all. I thanked Manny Santos for the time but than I was ordered to close the door. Im sorry but you don't order someone.

Someone needs to teach Mr. Santos the 101 of conducting interviews, posting legit positions, as he is far from being a professional in his so called industry. Mr. Santos should also be educated in providing a stress free and friendly environment and when conducting interviews, Mr. Santos should not have rap music blurring from a boom box so loud that a person cannot hear themselves think.

Don't bother responding to their adds as they are a complete waste of time.
