The Doctors Center
Unknown Working Interview No Pay!

Health & Medicine

I am currently looking for work in Florida, so I have been sending resumes out alot lately. I saw a position that I was qualified for as a MRO and so I sent a resume to them. The next day I received a call from the office manager at The Doctors Center for a MRO position that needed to be filed so I went in and the interview went great. The office manager called me back Tuesday morning and asked me to come in to work, so I did. A few hours after I was there and already working I asked about the W-4 and other paperwork I had to fill out and she stated she did not have a chance to print them out yet. I wasn't really concerned that day but she did say they were still interviewing for the position but I was on the top on that list. The second day I was a little more nervous about the paperwork, I never trained at a company that still felt they had to interviews other before. When I asked about the paperwork on Wednesday she stated that she wasn't sure if the company paid for a working interview. I was pretty shocked that this happened but I maintained my professionlism and kept working. She told me that day she would call me back Friday and left me know either way about the position I was already trained for. So, I called her Friday and supposingly they were making the decision right then and I was told she would call me back. It's not like she didn't have my number, I called her from it on friday. So, I wasn't told about a working interview, I didn't know I was working for free. I worked a total of 7 hours for this company and then didn't even get a call back saying sorry we went with someone else. I don't know anyone that can waste their gas or time on a job they may or may not get. I could have been using my gas on looking for a job that would pay me. Companies like this need to explain to perspective employees that if they choose to come in that this is a working interview and you will not get paid for this. Also know that even if you invest your time and money at this company that you may or may not get the job. Also please know that while I was working at this company I did not say anything to offend anyone and I was very professional on both days. I just wish that employers were more professional and up front about the position they are trying to fill. Serious workers do not have the time or money to waste on companies that do not value our time.
