My mother died I called to cancel her service and pay any amount still owed. Verizon cancelled her last bill and charged nothing for the last month and would disconect service with no charge since she DIED. Ok now i sent a death certificate as needed and when i turned her phone back in the store faxed a copy of her death certificate. Verizon turned it over to a collection agency to get the diconnection fee even after i called them every month to clear this up. The store where the phone was purchased sent another death certificate, still sent it to ANOTHER collection agency, I sent another death certificate and now we are in the 5th month of this i called the owner of the store and he had to clear this up. No one at verizon knew what to do, she expired early we did not just turn the phone off. I found my mother dead in her home so to handle all the stuff i had to was difficult and verizon only made it worsre. It took almost 6 months to clear this up due to there error.
