Ripoff of my elderly parents of construction, still have a 2 page punch list of things not done right or incomplete. Fully Pd for. No Pride in their workmanship

My parents done a 1031 on farm land and had Hallmark Builders build a shop and remodel some of the house. Prehung doors were hung out of alignment. No insulation where there should be insulation. Shop counter slopes, drawers close by them selves from the gravety of not being level. Screws to hold the counter top on have broken through the formica top. Hand rail going down stairs has a splice with a 5 inch curve. Water runs down the inside of the hot water heater flue. Trip/fall hazard on the deck from an uneven deck surface.

Major shop wall risers have major wood splits. Two shop corners do not have the bracing the other corners have. No sealing gaulking on side day light panels. Shower doors do not seal, 3/4 inch out of hanging plumb. Floor tile work was not fitted properly around door corners and center floor drainage. Plumber put a Natural Gas water heater in on a Propane gas line. Sheet rock seams are visible, wall spakle finish is very uneven, nails working out of sheet rock. Snow sheared off the water heater vent and sewer vent pipe. Shop office has major crack betweem window frame and interior wall. Door jambs or uneven, insulation missing around door jambs. About 30 items on a 'punch list that have not been taken care of.

No Pride in workmanship, Just get $'s and run. Promise by contractor to come out, but that has been over 5 months ago. Contractor had his cousin Ron Hall do some of the work. Doors swing open or shut by them selves. All in All this has been a nightmare, my parents were cheated out of a lot of money for items that were to be Top Of the Line. But received the lower level of quality. The accounting of where the money went and the cost of the items were not able to be disclosed by the contractor.

My parents are in their 80's and were taken advantage of. The contractor has been paid in full but has not honored the promised visit to reconcile the bad workmanship or the inferior quality of some of the materials used. Beware of this, do not vote for this type of business with your dollar supporting him or his relatives that work for him. Put your dollar vote into reputable contractors that stand behind their work and are proud of their work.

Do not let your loved ones become a victim of this type of elderly fraud. Call me and I will show you proof positive of each item and more that I have briefly outlined. Ask any contractor that is to work for you that you may pick randomly 3 to 5 names of his past work. Contact them and inquire about the contractor, do some due diligence on them. Have them prove themselves. Thank You.
