Miscellaneous

I received a cross country visa gold card just recently and I was shocked when I was trying to purchase groceries and the clerk told me my card transaction was denied. Leaving all of my groceries, I had to return home and contact cross country. They do not provide a toll free number and they kept me on the phone for a long time.

To add to the long distance bill, they did not help at all. I asked why my card was denied and they told me that they had taken out a $50.00 annual fee and $100.00 for an account origination fee. And this is for a $250. Limit card.

So, basically, they only gave me A card limit of $100.00 and I'm going to have to pay them the $150.00 that I never received, including the measly $100.00 plus the outstanding interest.

I asked the lady on the phone to cancel my card and that I would pay off the balance that I received. She tells me that I would be paying back alot more than that and there would be another charge for cancelling and for any overdrafts.

I asked her why they didn't just advertise "GET A CREDIT CARD WITH A $100.00 LIMIT NOW. AND YOU ONLY HAVE TO PAY US $150.00 PLUS THE INTEREST FOR USING IT." She simply replies" you should read the small fine print".
