Cross Country Bank Credit Card
Cross Country Bank is Ripping off Americans Daily!

Someone called me one day and offered me this credit card from Cross Country Bank. I accepted the offer and had my credit card within 2 weeks. I used it a few times and had no problems. I kept the card for approximately a year. I then applied for a credit card with a much lower rate and was accepted. I transferred the remaining balance from the Cross Country card to the lower rate card. The transfer process took approximately 2 weeks. Within this 2 weeks I incurred an annual fee from Cross country, and this annual fee took me over my credit limit that I had with them. This incurred an overlimit fee. My intent was to close this card. I received a statement showing these fees, and immediately called their long distance (no toll free) number. After waiting for several minutes on my dime, the customer service person says, "oh don't worry we will waive all of this and consider the card closed."

I considered the card closed until I received a late notice in the mail a couple of weeks later, with a late fee tacked onto all the other fees I was charged and never credited for. I immediately called them back and was told again, dont worry, were sorry, this is resolved as of today. Well of course it wasnt and a couple weeks later I get another late notice stating I am over 30 days late. I call again for the 3rd time, LONG DISTANCE, waiting several minutes to speak to someone. Finally I ask for a manager, and am told by the MANAGER, that they have several call centers in Delaware, Florida, Virginia, and other areas, and that noone told me I would be credited these fees, that I was responsible for all of these fees, and that until they were paid, I would be reported to the credit agencies, and collections.

Well I paid them, and they are showing as charge off paid, on my credit report now, and I am telling EVERYONE!!! What a crooked 2 bit business this CROSS COUNTRY BANK IS!
I will continue to tell everyone I can what a no good bad business this is. So if someone calls you from Cross County Bank offering you a credit card, HANG UP ON THEM!!!
