Four Month Old Washer Broke, Repair Weeks Away, Replacement Costs $70

I purchased a Kenmore washer in
November. It broke Jan 29. Called 800 number and was told it could be fixed on Feb 27! Called dealer where purchased and told I could get new one for a charge of $70! I will get charged to get a replacement for a four month old washer. They suggested I purchase a warantee for 3 years.
