Poor service, question of Marketing ethics - Bathroom Cabinet

Recently ordered a bathroom cabinet, paying full price — not knowing it was other than a current product. Product arrive, but one of three mirrored doors was broken. Thinking it was a current product from a reputable manufacturer, I had my handyman continue to install it while I reported the break to HomeDepot. A few days later they informed me that the product was discontinued and that the manufacturer could not provide a replacement door. They told me to return the cabinet for credit. This would required me to pay my handyman again to uninstall it, and to pay him a third time to install a replacement cabinet. Even if I did have him uninstall it, it would be impossible to repackage it for shipping. HomeDepot's solution was to take it to the local store. No other solution was offered.

Instead, on my own initiative (and cleverness, by the way), I had a local mirror vendor create a new door.

Problems solved: No uninstall, reinstall costs; original product choice is kept; New favorite retailer (with excellent customer service): Lowes
