Expedia overcharging

Booked roundtrip business flight from LAX to Venice for $6300 online. Purchase insurance and obtained seat assignments and provided them with credit card info. They charged over $10,000 to my card. It took several hours over three days to undo the previous mistake and the seats would now cost ober $1000 more.
What a scam!
