Marked delivered, signed by a name unknown in my building

I placed an order with a department store for three items. A day later the items were shipped, and I started tracking the order because I wanted someone to be there to receive the shipment. The estimated delivery date was a Friday. The day came, I checked, and it said the items were delivered. I knew there was trouble right away, because the alleged person who signed for the shipment is not a name I recognize.

I got home after work, and there was nothing there. I asked my sister, who was home all day that Friday, and she said there were no deliveries that day. No one knocked or rang the bell. I live in a building, and no one with the name that supposedly signed for this package lives in that building. There is no way this package was delivered to my apartment, that I know for sure. At best, the driver stopped by my building (and even that is sketchy at this point) and just gave the items to the first person he saw.

Fortunately, I was able to get a refund from the store. Unfortunately, I will not be getting the items I ordered. In the future I will try to do business only with companies that do not use FedEx or that use a different shipping company.
