Items were said to be delivered, but never got them

I placed an order with a department store for three items. A day later the items are shipped, then I start tracking the order, hey I want someone to be there to receive the shipment. So, the estimated date of the shipment is a Friday, the day comes and I am checking, and it says that items are delivered, I knew there was trouble right away, because the alleged person who signed for the shipment is not a name that I recognize. Got home after work, there was nothing there, asked my sister who was home all day that Friday, and she said there were no deliveries that day. No one knocked or ring the bell, I live in a building, and there are no one with the name that supposedly signed for this package in that building. There is no way that this package was delivered to my apt, that I know for sure. At best the driver stopped by my building (and even that is sketchy at this point), and just gave the items to the first person he saw. Fortunately, I was able to get a refund from the store, unfortunately I won't be getting the items that I ordered. Will try to only do business with companies that do not use fedex or use a different shipping company in the future.
