I purchased a newly built home from MI Homes in 2004. I seen inspection reports that various aspects of the home building process had passed, I had a FHA loan, so as a result I did not obtain an inspection... Being this home was newly built. I was wrong to think this... Before the years warranty was up I obtained an inspection that revealed numerous structural defects as well as the presence of white mold on the basement walls. I went over the report in detail with Ed White, who represented MI Homes as supervisor of new homes warranty dept. He began arguing with me, discussing his personal life. The home became infested with black mold and me and my family lived there for 5 additional years, getting extremely sick, facing financial ruin, I got absolutely no help from this company in dealing with this disaster they caused and was responsible to fix. Sadly I'm not the only homeowner in this community (Kingston Crossing) dealing with this. I spoke to 8-10 families who stated the homebuilder sprayed a white substance on their walls but they did not know why. They did nothing for me and the home incurred maximum damage. The mold was in our indoor air, water pipes, we were eating/drinking it, and on all my belongings I purchased new. Now I'm being victimized by someone, I feel some form of toxin/chemicals coming through the vents in my apartment, individuals are throwing some form of chemicals on the ground where I'm walking, it seems I'm being followed. I just want justice for this situation. MI Homes left us for dead. I contacted Ohio Attorney general's office, but somehow MI Homes seem to have got away with problem as I received no compensation to help me recover all I have lost resulting from this deadly, prolonged exposure to 25-30 toxic mold spores per a report from an independent biologist whom performed testing inside/outside the home.
