Bought 7300 scanner, unused, bought new computer told need new CD or download for XP now told download lacks part of paperport Internet

I puchased Visioneer 7300, found it would not work with PC (not enough memory)

Bought and installed new PC (plenty of memory) installed software. Could not make it copy to word processor.

Technical peole told me to download driver. Did so.

Still no luck. Did a little more research and was told it was illegal to provide part of Paperport program on a download, buy CD.

Have ordered CD, shipping price is 9.99. Will it do the job, I begin to doubt it?

It does seem to me that Visioneer has an obligation to provide a workable software program and charge a more reasonable or no price for shipping. The problem is with their download and original CD.
