TWC keeps billing after account closed

Internet & Web

I cancelled my service with TWC last week and hired a new service provider. When my wife dropped off the equipment she was told we had no balance and there would be no further charges. Yesterday, TWC drafted $230 from our checking account. When I called in to ask about the charges, the rep told me that they would be refunded in 4-6 weeks. I consider this "forced loan", theft. The promise to return my money to me in 4-6 weeks does nothing to put food on the table or buy school supplies for my kids. I have already vowed never to use TWC for any services in the future. Does this type of action sound rational or even legal?

I have been fed up with TWC for some time now. Hence the reason for me choosing a new service provider. I mistakenly assumed that when I cancelled my service, I was done with TWC. Since TWC is evidently not done with me, I am not done with them either.in fact, I am going to spend every waking moment telling the whole world how TWC treats its clients.

I will probably have my work cut out for me. Rest assured that I will take advantage of every aspect of social networking available to me today. I imagine my few friends can easily help me spread the word about the "fascinating" customer service that TWC provides. Perhaps I will reach out to my old video development team to help me craft a few videos. Since my background is in social engineering and networking, I suspect I can tweak those videos to make them go viral quite easily.

It seems a shame that TWC has such a low opinion of its clients. I have never had a positive experience with TWC support. I waited patiently until an alternative was available, and as soon as one was available, I jumped ship. I am also going out of my way to take as many of TWC's existing clients as possible. I will be helping friends and co-workers find alternatives to TWC's service. I know for a fact, that TWC lost two more clients today as a direct result of my past experiences. At a rough monthly cost of $100 each, I figure TWC company has already lost $2400 a year in revenue.

Obviously I am not going to spend every waking hour for the rest of my life beating up TWC. I have to have a realistic limit. So here it is. Once I have figured that I have cost TWC $1M US dollars in lost revenue as a result of cancellations of service, I will let them off the hook. I figured that I spent $10,000 with TWC over the years, so at 100X there is a nice symetry. TWC should just hope I don't win the lottery. If I did, I wouldn't hesitate to blow through several million dollars in TV ads to assist in my effort to show TWC that treating its clients like crap, has consequences.
