Ripoff bait & switch Nationwide

I subscribed to ancestry.com in November. The only billing option offered were monthly & annual. I subscribed to a basic package for 99.95 annually.

In Jan I received a notice that my "quarterly" subscription to the super pak was going to be automatically renewed in March (another 99.95). I called and infomred them that I had not taken a Quarterly subscription and did not subscribe to some of the records (UK and Ireland for example) they were quoting in their email and didn't recall this as being the "package" I subscribed to, and to please straighten out my subscription.

I also sent an email to them explaining the same thing.instead of fixing it, he "gave me an extra month" to think it over. I thought Okay that gives me a bit more time to resolve this. I checked the website again, thinking maybe I had accidentally checked the wrong box when I initially subscribed.

NOWHERE on this sign-up page was there a Super subscription package offered nor was anything offered as a quarterly billing, only monthly or annual! (this time I printed out this page) Now how did I subscribe to something not even listed? I emailed them again explaining this and have yet to hear back. I have found lots of useful information on ancestry.com and would love to continue my membership but not at 99.95 quarterly, when I am supposed to have an annual membership.

My next step is to go ahead and canel the subscription (thanks all for letting me know how to do this properly!) and then contacting my Credit card company to make sure I am not billed again and to see about the possibility of back billing this to ancestry.com since they pulled a bait and switch manuever.
