Driver Boost Run around for a refund

Internet & Web

Unable to receive a refund for downloaded software that didn't work to correct my printer problem. DriverBoost was advertised as having the ability to locate and update hardware drivers. Performed the free scan and found several drivers were outdated; clicked on the fix button; then popup appeared to purchase the software... Which dummy me, did using PayPal. Cost was $29.95. Downloaded the full package; reran the scan and clicked fix. My printer driver wasn't updated, was not allowed to uninstall and then reinstall printer, reran software, contacted their support, given directions again, tried their solution, didn't work. Kept researching the printer issue and found a user's forum that provided the fix at no cost... The users group provided a "patch" that immediately corrected my problem and my printer works.

I've respectfully requested a refund, sent them the documentation/invoice from PayPal and have not heard back. The telephone number they provide on their site is automated and basically provides a step by step solution that uses their software that didn't work. The voice mail says to email them from their website link and emails are answered in the order received...

Gave up last night (which is unusual) and sent them an email telling them to enjoy a dinner on me with the $29.95 they basically scammed me out of.

I know better than to download software fixes from companies but felt this was a reputable company with their Microsoft seal, etc. I've never had issues with companies refunding for downloaded software. I've always uninstalled any software that I purchased that didn't perform.

Lesson learned with this experience.
