Ripoff company bypasses paypal to charge directly tricked and lied to us Nationwide

I signed up for halsoft chat when excites virtual places closed, and had been paying $15 per month for a 10 name account to share with my friends. Growing weary of their heavy handed, gestapo-like host activity, when paypal rejected my credit card several months later, i didnt do anything to *correct* the problem, hoping to let the account simply expire. End of story, right?

Wrong! Somehow halsoft bypassed Paypal and charged my credit card directly! (paypal had rejected the card in error, btw, there was nothing wrong with it) New charges showed up on my statement as halsoft, not paypal. Oh well, i thought, i'll keep it for a few more months, maybe things will get better.

Halsoft then demanded i remove a certain friend's name from my account, they offered no reason, and i do not know why they even asked me to do this, as they have the hosting powers to ban or block any name or specific user, via IP address. When i questioned them as to the reasons why, they banned my entire account, and refused to refund the money i had paid for that month in advance.

And guess what? The following month, i was AGAIN charged by halsoft for this account, even tho i was now unable to use it at all. I certainly never authorized them to bill me directly in the first place, and i thought this type of rip-off was what PAYPAL was supposed to prevent. I had to cancel the credit card entirely to prevent further charges from halsoft.

Trust me, i will pursue this with the proper authorities. I think people should know that halsofts hosts have always been known to engage in illegal hacking activities, even when they were known as Excites Virtual Places... (VP) Anyone who spent any time in VP can confirm the hellish experience it often was, with constant bootings, etc. Now they wear the cloak of legitimacy, but that doesnt change the fact that they were scumbags then, and they are scumbags now.

Have they hacked the PayPal system in order to bypass the so called protection that service claims to offer? Im sure PayPal, and the federal authorities, will find out.in the meantime, beware, this is not a chat service you should get involved in.
