Checking Account Charged $480.50 Instead of My Credit Card

I bought something off eBay via PayPal. I clicked more payment options, entered a credit card number, and somehow my checking account was drafted for 480.50 dollars, the price of the merchandise. PayPal is being very slow and unhelpful in fixing the problem that they created by making their website very unintuitive. There are other reports about this, and a friend had the same thing happen to him.
The vendor already did a refund, but PayPal has it on hold for some reason. They cost me 44 dollars in service charges, and no one over there cares. Wells Fargo will not reverse the charges unless PayPal does a refund, and I was told by PayPal that this could take up to 30 days. Thanks a lot, PayPal! You really treated me badly.
