Charged $21.95 After Cancelling AOL, Account Now Negative $109.75

I signed up for AOL for one free month and gave them my PayPal credit card #. After my free month I decided to cancel AOL and got DSL. I called to cancel and they said they would cancel it. Well, my PayPal account was charged $21.95 the following month. I had $0.00 in my PayPal account, which of course turned into negative $21.95.
I emailed PayPal and told them I do not have AOL and that I cancelled it last month. I also asked them how money could be taken out of my account when there was not any money in there to be taken out. They said the authorization number AOL used was valid and I was in breach of contract under the PayPal user agreement. I told them they needed to get their money back from AOL, not me.
I emailed PayPal several times to lock my account so AOL could not keep taking money. After 5 months they finally did, and now I am at negative $109.75.
