Improper estimate of services, poor equipment, much misinformation

I'm going to take the easy way out on this ROR and copy and paste the letter of 5-20 I sent Comcast upon cancellation of their lousy television services:

" I made the serious mistake of changing from Dish Network to Comcast for my television service. I was paying $82.00 for the 200 channel package, two H.D. Dvrs. Having had Comcast broadband for years (and being satisfied with it) I secured a quote for similar TV service from Comcast. BIG MISTAKE!!!

When I signed up, I was quoted $112.42 for broadband AND television, with two H.D. Dvrs. This order was initiated with an individual identified as "Twanda". My broadband and basic TV was initially $62.63, making the DVRs and expanded H.D. Tv $49.79. After I cancelled Dish Network, Comcast notified me there were errors in my original quote, and the TV (200 channel) service would ultimately be $85.46 (not $49.79 as quoted) and increase by $20.00 in six months. For example, the two DVRs mysteriously became one DVR. This flies in the face of my inquiry that my price quote "would not be the result of any promotions that would go away. I was assured that was the permanent price.

The Comcast DVRs are absolute obsolete JUNK. They must be left on 24/7 or they won't record. I was also assured the prerecorded material on the hard drive would be accessible when the DVR was disconnected from the cable. IT IS NOT! Totally! This was an issue as I had previously taken the Dish DVRs in my motorhome travelling and watch what was already on the hard drive. I can no longer do this. The Comcast DVRs have a miniscule 60 hour hard drive. Another irritation is the fact all upcoming programming schedule is immediately lost if the DVR is disconnected (from power) for one nanosecond, and must be completely reloaded.

My dealing with Comcast is reminiscent of car dealers at their worst. Tell em what they wanna' hear, honesty and ethics to the wind". I was given many statements that proved completely FALSE. No matter that I memorialized all conversation IMMEDIATELY and had the Comcast staff member read everything back. The falsehoods were merely repeated, then denied during subsequent conversations.

I have never dealt with an entity with which there was such a gross difference between what was promised and what was ultimately delivered. My advice: avoid Comcast as a Television provider. You'll be promised what they ascertain you want to hear and the services and price will be a far cry from what is promised."

6: Latest development-I talked my way back to Dish Network (thank god) and am continuing with Comcast Broadband. I've found their broadband service to be entirely satisfactory.
