Paypal
Refuses to refund a fraudulent charge!

Internet & Web

Paypal is suppose to be safe. Well I was unfortunate enough to have some comapny charge me without permission. As soon as I see this charge I use Paypal dispute process to try to get it reversed. Now for those who don't know the process is suppose to go like this (according to Paypal themselves) you open a dispute and a notice is sent to the party that charged you, the party has a time frame to respond and provide evidence to support the charge, if they don't respond the case is automatically decided in your favor. Sounded like I'd get my money back for sure. Than no more than a week after opening the dispute they send me a notice that it was decided that the payment was lagit! What??? So I write to them and ask why they think I should pay this. First time I don't even get a response. I try again and get someone who tells me that the merchant has provided evidence that supports the charge. I tell them that is not possible, and to please explain what they are basing this on. After 3 e-mails they didn't respond. So i went to my bank and told them the charge from Paypal was unauthorized because they refuse to explain to me why I should pay it. I am lucky my bank is understanding and issued a chargeback. For which Paypal closed my account, but I don't care I wouldn't use them again anyway. Paypal makes it easy for people to get away with scams, and doesn't feel the need to correct it!
