I would like to thank you for taking time to read my report about Best Buy. First, I find it proper that I introduce myself. I am an employee at the Best Buy store in Dublin, CA (#134). I am growing tired of Best Buys horribly corrupt practices directed at manipulation of both customers and employees.

I got a taste of what Best Buy was really like immediatly after I got a job. I was promised a pay raise of 10% within 6 months of employment. This was a stipulation of my employment. When the six months came around, I received no raises, despite my above average performance reviews and #1 Salesman ranking.

The practice I find most despicable is the way they deal with their returned merchandise. Lets say that you purchase a telephone, take it out of the box, and find it does not work. You bring it back to the store and you assume they always throw that model out right? Wrong! That Inspected By Best Buy tape means nothing. Often defective products are simply repackaged, marked down 10% and sold to the next person.

Service plans (PSP) are often misrepresented to comply with management set department quotas. Even though we are not commissioned there is immense pressure on us to sell this worthless plan that doesnt cover a majority of the problems that we come across.

Best Buys management is a key reason for the companies extremely high turnaround. Over the past year I have had 6 different bosses. They are often inept, immature, and cannot handle customers. Dealing with Best Buy is like talking to a brick wall, I highly recommend any other electronic retailer.
