Spun.com
Scam artists, bait and switch to get you to ship your product only to scam you out of all your money

Internet & Web

On 12/29/08 I placed an order to sell my CD's to Spun.com. All of my CD's were going to total to $40.80 credited to my Paypal account. As others before me on this site, they came back to me on 1/15/09 indicating that my CD's were scratched, etc. And that they were devaluing the entire order by 75% as indicated on their terms and conditions.

I contested their evaluation of my items as I know that the condition of my items were all excellent. They responded back that I had 30 days to respond back to them what I wanted done to my items; either they dispose of them or I can choose to have them shipped back to me but I would have to provide them $4.00 in shipping costs and refund their original Paypal payment of $13.88. The same day I received this e-mail, I accessed my Paypal account, refunded their money and provided them an additional $4.00 as per their e-mail.

On 1/21/09 they e-mail me yet again acknowledging my e-mail stating that they will be returning my product as I had requested and also an additional e-mail via the Paypal account indicating to me that I had received a payment in the amount of $6.30 (less than half of what they originally tried to pay me) with an additional note stating: "I am sorry to say that your accepted items cannot be returned. These items were accepted and have already been added to our inventory. For this reason, the remaining balance of $6.30 has been sent to you via PayPal".

I responded to them that I am refunding all their money since as per their e-mail, they had agreed to send my product and that I had 30 days from the day of their e-mail, which I am well within that time frame, and to find my product and send it to me. This afternoon, I refunded their money, so we will see what they respond with this time. I should have known that a company without a phone number and only e-mail addresses would be less than reputable but I didn't check this site before I dealt with them. The only reason why they wouldn't return my CD's at this point is because they aren't scratched. Their false statements about the "integrity" of the product of their company and how they live up to it and how my product was not up to par is just a way to make themselves seem reputable.

I warn everyone to stay away from this company. They quote you higher resale costs up front so that they can get you to send in your product, then they "claim" that your quality CD's are less than acceptable and then they scam you for the entire order amount in the end. I will follow up this report with their responses.
