Dell Sells Defective Hardware

After having a $1200 Dell computer system for a few months past its 3 year extended warranty, the hard drive failed. I spoke with Dell customer representatives 3 times and received the same reply: "You need to buy another hard drive, your is no longer under warranty." In other words, a Dell computer will only last long enough to complete its 3 year warranty and then you will have to buy a new one. So much was lost, personal and professional when the computer died. They offer no reimbursement. I plan on filing a report with the BBB and Attorney General. This shotty workmanship should not be tolerated. Next time I will buy a foreign computer.
