Bought their product ($288) and did not know it would not work in my environment

I bought this product to use on my Mac in a Windows Virtual Machine (which is pretty much the same as running it on a Windows PC). It was not marked on the box, nor is it indictated on www.neatreceipts.com that the software will not work in a virtual machine. It has taken me over 3 months to get to the point that I am able to identify that it will not work (which I was told by support, much to my surprise). It is past the date when I can return it to Staples, so basically I am screwed.
