Beware of Dell Financial Services! They are extremely unethical!
My "preferred" account was a little past due. I spoke to DFS on 5/15 and made an arrangement to bring it current by the end of the month.
I actually made my payments earlier then what we had set up and had my account current as of 5/23.
I went to the DFS webpage and saw that my account was current and I have available credit of $2300.
I attempted to place an order and found there was a block on my account.
This is where the nightmare began...
I started contacting customer service. I got tons of "automated replys" but out of about 20 emails I only got about 5 replys from real people. And even then they ALL said they needed more info. I would supply the info and that would be the last I heard. This went on for 3 days!
Finally I heard back from someone in DFS. He informs me they CLOSED my account on 5/11. When we made the arrangements on 5/15 we were told the acct would be fine if we caught it up by 5/30. NOTHING was said about the acct already being closed or even going to be closed. We were aware we could not use it till it was caught up.
I immediately emailed DFS back and explained we had made arrangement.
My email was ignored.
I later emailed again and asked for contact information for the corporate office so I could file a complaint and once again I was ignored.
DFS says they closed my account on 5/11 but when I go to their website and get my account summary I can clearly see my acct is OPEN. It's 100% current. And I have plenty available credit.
My recommendation would be to never do business with Dell period. But if you simply must then DO NOT get involved with DFS. They are unethical and will not stand by anything they say.
