I required an USB port for my Dell and called Dell for advice.
Dell recommended their PCMCIA 2.0 interface card.
The card in fact did not provide a physical interface.
Dell said must be a mistake and exchanged the $70. Part.
The new part was the same as the old.
Dell support kept passing me from Customer service to support and thus refused to let me speak to a supervisor.
Tech support said it needed time to investigate why the port did not provide a physical interface and would get back to me in a week.
Tech support never responded.
Finally after over three weeks of calls (over 18 hours) I asked for a refund and a return authorization.
I was informed that a return authorization could not be given because I had the part in my possession for over three weeks.
I finally talked to supervision and declared that I lost 18 hours worth of billable services while on the phone with Dell and I billed at that time $70/hr. And insisted that I should be reimbursed for their poor service.
Their attitude was "TOO BAD"
My attitude is..
I still have the worthless part if they want it.
The State of New Your has filed a lawsuit against Dell because of consumer complaints such as mine.
Dell has added late charges to the original bill adding insult to injury.
This bill is in dispute and I refuse to pay it.
Fortunately its on their credit card. They have run me through at least five credit collection companies lasting over two years over this $60. Part.
