Hp still havent returned my laptop! United kingdom

Had my notebook pc for about 2-3 weeks and the screen went funny. So i rang up the hp helpline, which they where very helpfull! They said that it would be returned within 5 to 10 working days. So when the collction came, he put in a foam padded box! Gave me a receipt! And 3 weeks later i still havnt not heard anything! I have a reference number... Which you cannot put in on there website to see where the item is! I sent them an email but they sent me 1 back with a link which i went on. But, that was a waste of time! Cause, i allready been on that. So whats the point in having a ref number if you cant use to check the status of your item!

Oh yeah and the receipt they gave me, well it got stolen out my house! Does this mean i wont get my notebook back?
