Internet & Web

Over the past few years, I've relied on so called expert "Gurus"
in internet marketing to help me be able to work from home. One of them had been Mike Filsaime, in which I was on his mailing list. This past week I received an e-mail telling about a new program designed to help the internet marketer obtain more hits to their web site. The program is known as InstantBuzz, in which a bar is placed at the bottom of the internet browser and by clicking on other members' ads, I earned points and they would be able to click on my ad to see it. After listening to the very hyped up testimonials at the InstantBuzz web site, I decided to download the Elite version for $197.00. However, I did not at all appreciate the fact that I had to upgrade right then and there. There was NO chance to upgrade at a later date after trying the free program. It was made quite clear at the web site that there would be NO chance to upgrade at a later time. After downloading the program, there was a problem of being able to view the other members' ads after clicking on them at the bottom of my browser. I went to the tutortorial and found out I had to enable pop ups to view them. After enabling pop ups on my computer, I still could not view the other members' ads after clicking on them. While sitting at my computer wondering what to do next, all of a sudden I lost my home page and a window came up telling me I was low on memory. I tried rebooting and that did not help bring back my home page. Since my Hewlett Packard computer is only a 128 and not a 256, I could only surmise that the program was just too much for a 128 to handle properly. So, I deleted InstantBuzz from my programs and deleted it from my C hard drive and then rebooted. After deleting InstantBuzz from my computer and rebooting, my computer worked just fine. I got my home page back and all systems worked as usual. After deleting InstantBuzz from my computer, I contacted the help desk at InstantBuzz and explained what happened and that since I had a 128, it just could not handle the program so I had to delete it and requested a refund. Mind you, there is no where at the InstantBuzz web site stating that the computer downloading the programs had to be a certain capacity. The below is the reply I received from Don Hendrick
at the InstantBuzz help desk. The owner of the company is Mike Filsaime.

Hello,

I have contacted the owner for his policy concerning refund requests.

This is the response I am to provide in ALL instances.

1) If you purchasd an Elite upgrade, there will be no refund once your account has been upgraded. This upgrade includes over
$4000 in products that cannot be returned as a phusical product can.

2) If you purchased a Professional upgrade, you were provided with an Adpack at the time of upgrade. No refunds will be approved once that AdPack shows as activated in the AdPack Manager.

3) If you purchased an AdPack or PowerPack, all sales are final and NO refunds will be granted after the AdPack or PowerPack has been activated.

The decision is final.

Thank you,

Don

Now, to me, the above attitude and reply is very greedy and cold hearted. I had to delete the program because my 128 computer could not handle it. To me, this is very unfair. So, until this situation is resolved through usacomplaints.com or the FTC, I am out of $197.00. NEVER again will I trust Mike Filsaime or any other so cfalled internet marketing "Guru" for advice and tipe, etc.in helping me with my internet business. This poroves to me that they're greedy. And, I have a feeling that all the "bugs" to this InstantBuzz program have not been worked out yet, because other people were also having the same problem I was at the tutortorial section, in not being able to view the ads by having them pop up. Not every computer has the same anti-virus, anti spyware programs. I also tried disabling many of them and that did not help. Anyway, it would be very dangerous to disable all protection on a computer. Perhaps this program is able to only work with certain anti-virus programs and certain anti spyware programs. I feel that aspect also has to be investigated. But, my problem was the fact that my computer is only a 128 and not a 256. It ran low on memory trying to proces InstantBuzz to have it work. When I requested a refund for a legitmate reason, I was denied. Now I have to report this situation to the FTC. Thank you.
