Ripoff, multiple order screw-ups, rudeness on phone, nightmarish inefficiency

I decided to change from Internet Broadband to DSL in order to save money. SBC was advertising heavily, and I was sucked in. 3 orders were lost, and then no equipment arrived.
Once the equipment arrived, my order had been cancelled.By now, over a month had transpired, and my EBAY business was sunk. I called repeatedly to find an address so that I could return the junker equipment, and I immediately cancelled DSL, both to no avail. Finally a representative (hideously rude) told me today after I got a bill for $179 that I could not have a refund of any sort or return the equipment.
Run for your life from SBC, or you will be hassled to death. Particularly, orders placed on the internet for phone or DSL will be repeatedly lost. SBC also goes by the name of ATT. They are advertising heavily. If you order from them, you need to have hundreds of free hours to try to straighten things out.
